A clean jersey that gives a nod to the cycling community and great riding in Steamboat Springs, Colorado! This kit is just for fun - No membership required, no sponsors, Made for locals and visitors alike, and it looks great at any speed. Wear it proudly on gravel, trail, or pavement around Colorado or anywhere in the world your bike takes you - just be ready for it to spark up conversation with others who want to share their Steamboat Springs stories.
Behind the design - Those who have ridden in Steamboat know it's cycling scene is as impressive as it's winter skiing fame. A small town filled with iconic rides, local characters, framebuilders, and riders of all types.
Local rider and graphic designer, Erin Horn, took inspiration from a 'Ski Club' jersey design dating to the 1930's. The original design resurfaced in a great picture of local legend, Bob Wither, at a 1984 vintage costume ski race (he took first place!). Now it lives on in our latest Ride Workshop cycling kit. *Photo courtesty of The Tread of Pioneers Museum.
And about that elevation calllout of 6732' on the rear pocket, it is measured at the old County courthouse downtown. It's likely one of the most common questions for anyone riding (and gasping for air) for the first time in Steamboat Springs.
Production - For this project we have partnered with Italian brand Giordana. With a soft Merino Wool fabric blend and more relaxed fit, the Wool Jersey is made for the rider who wants the latest performance features and benefits delivered in a more traditional material with a classic look. The entire jersey is constructed of a soft and breathable Polyester and Merino wool blend that keeps the body cool or warm depending on the temperature, as only natural wool fibers can.
